Nearly four in ten estate agents (39%) believe that greater “mutual respect” would most improve their relationship with conveyancers, but lawyers would prefer to see a focus on better collaboration, research has found.

An overwhelming 82% of estate agents and conveyancers say that the events of the last few years have seen their relationship change and that there is a real opportunity from building greater respect, trust, and openness going forward.

In the ‘Working Better Together’ report, a lack of mutual respect was cited by 32 per cent as preventing the professions from collaborating together effectively.

Despite their contrasting professions, building positive relationships and achieving customer satisfaction is what unites both.

It is clear the difficulties of recent years have created even greater challenges for both conveyancers and estate agents and the relationship between them.

The findings reveal both parties overwhelmingly agree (82%) that the relationship has changed, and despite the challenges they face, nearly half are confident (42%) the relationship can be better.

One of the biggest challenges is a lack of understanding of the role conveyancers and estate agents play in a transaction, which creates a disconnect between them.

According to “Working Better Together”, a new report by Coadjute, both professions see real opportunity from building greater respect, trust, and openness in the relationship.
